Summary The poem written by Albert Rowe talks about the pathetic condition of two boys from Spain. They are called ‘The Donkey Boys’ instead of ‘The School Boys’ i.e. students as they go to the seashore with their donkey. Once in the early morning, the writer saw them in the scorching sun collecting driftwood. When the boys saw the writer they waved and smiled at him and again became busy in their work. They were collecting light sticks for bedding sorting out of the driftwood. The white donkey stood there without moving and its eyes and ears were sleepy. The donkey was carrying a large basket that was to be filled by the sticks. The donkey followed them quietly as well when they moved collecting the sticks. One day the writer saw them passing the school riding on their donkey. Children were playing in the ground but the boys did not give attention to them but kept on riding to the sea with their beautiful and innocent smile.

The poem ‘Weathers’ written by an English poet, Thomas Hardy, talks about two different seasons viz. the spring and the winter seasons.    In the first stanza the beautiful and pleasant spring season is described. He says that in this season cuckoo and nightingale feel good. The light rain flows over pointed leaves of chestnut tree. The poet is pleased as nightingale sings at his best tune. People come out of the house to enjoy the weather and the birds’ song. The young girls are seen in their fine clothes. The people plan to visit different places of south and west. The poet likes this weather as it is liked by all the birds, animals and human as well. In the second stanza he talks about the dullness of the winter season and the cold, damp and wet weather. All the natural beauty turns into dull and unpleasant. The cuckoo hates this weather and the beeches turn dry and brown as their leaves are threshed by the wind.
