Unit 8 Lesson 1
* Tourist: person who visits one place to another inside the same country or abroad for different purpose (business, pleasure, education, spend holiday, pilgrimage etc.)

* Tourism Industry: Business activities related to the provision of accommodation entertainment supplied a services to the tourist
* Domestic/ National Tourist: Person who visits any place region within the same country.

* International Tourist
- Person who visit any place or region of another countries
- International tourist requires visa for travelling abroad
- National / domestic tourism industry is more develop then international tourism industry

* Reason for Traveling

- For recreation
- To learn new life - style and culture
- For education
- For official work
- For visiting religious places- For relaxing from over work
- To change the climate

* Importance of tourism Industry

- Earning foreign currency
- Increase job opportunity
- Support of cottage industry- Making our country know to other
- Conservation of art and architecture traditions and culture

* Development of physical and social infrastructure

- Increase in trade and business
- Utilization of local resources

* Problem created by tourism Industry

- Pollution
- Effects on culture and tradition.
- Disease and drugs.- Criminal activities.
- Environmental degradation.

* Possibility of Tourism in Nepal

- Rich in bio-diversity- Rich in ancient art and architecture.
- Highest peak in the world
- Birth place of Buddha.
- Diverse in culture and traditions
- Religious and historical sites.
- Favourable climatic condition.

*Problem in developing torsion Industry

- Lack of infrastructural development- Lack of conservation of cultural and religious sites.
- Inadequate means of entertainment- Lack of tourist goods.
- Lack of tourism information centre- Lack of publicity.
- Lack of safety and facility
- Internet conflict.

* Measure to solve tourism problem

- Developing infrastructure (physical and social)
- Conserving old sites.
- Conducting programme to control pollution.
- Constructing recreational area (parks theatre etc.)
- Stable government for setting the conflict.
- Increasing banking, marketing sector.
- Production of tourism goods.

Unit 8. Lesson 6. Foreign Employment
* Introduction
- Act of going to foreign country for jobs.
- to earn remittance for living.
- because of the unemployment problem.
- around 6000 youths moved to foreign country daily.

* Countries where Nepalese people go for employment

India, Golf countries, European countries, North American countries, middle east countries, e.g. India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, South Korea

* Works they do
- construction labour
- house maid
- agricultural work
- drivers
- security guard

* Importance of foreign employment

- Nepal's absolute unemployment rate 38% according to HDI date of 2060/61
- According to date of 2064 – 81 lakh Nepalese has gone abroad.
foreign employment contributes 17.4% Nepalese economy to 2010 A.D

* Main Importance
- help to solve unemployment problems.
- raises living standard of people and helps to eliminate poverty.
- Helps to bring out developmental projects using remittance.
- Develops mutual understanding between the countries.
Increase literacy rate as remittance helps poor people to get education.

Unit 8 Lesson 7

*Challenges of Foreign employment

- Unskilled and semi-skilled person do not get job as per the contract.
- Mental and physical torture of employment and sexual abuse.
- Long working hours.
- Employees are forced to work on low salary.
- lack of language knowledge
employees are cheated by manpower companies.
- Manpower companies charges higher amount of money than required.

Unit 8 Lesson 8

* Measures to solve problems of foreign employment

- manpower should be trained before going abroad.
- employees should learn the language of respective country.
- employees should be given knowledge of norms and values of related country.
- Government should check the illegal activities of manpower companies.
- Embassy should check the status of employees in the related countries.
- mentally and physically tortured person and sexually abused people should be prohibited by the country.

* Why do youth go for foreign employees

- lack of employment opportunities in Nepal.
- Because of the political instability and security problems.
less opportunities for skilled manpower.
- education system not oriented to job and vocational work.

* Way of improving foreign employment in Nepal

- Nepal government should have regular meeting with related countries to uplift employment status.
- Employees should be well trained about the respective jobs.
- Embassies of related countries should conduct interaction program with the employees language, culture, norms, and values of related country.
